Welcome to COOK with JOHN;

For some time now, it has been a dream of mine to find
a way to share my 35+ years of professional culinary experience with friends, family and food lovers from all over the world...I hope this site accomplishes that goal!

After 22 years of running the internationally acclaimed
4-star restaurant, "Windows on the Water" in Kennebunk, Maine, my wife and I decided it was time for us to begin taking life a little slower, to take the time to "smell the roses". 

So in November of 2007, we successfully concluded that chapter of our lives, but my love of food and especially my deep desire to entertain people has sparked a new chapter.  One that I hope will bring as much joy to those who partake in it as I do as I plan and develop it. 

One of the things that I realized in the past few years is my passion for teaching others some of the things that I have learned through the years.  Simple things like how
to properly sharpen and use kitchen knifes.  How to incorporate wholesome, all-natural, organic and sustainable ingredients into our everyday diets...I believe that by simply preparing meals the old fashion way; using local, fresh, non-processed foods, we not only treat our bodies better we treat our taste buds better also.

To help educate the non-professional chef, I have developed several different "Edu~taining Culinary Experiences" for folks to enjoy in the comfort of their own homes.  Some of these include:
